Our Story

Write a post all about me, umm no thanks. Throughout the past 20 years of my graphic design career I can’t even count how many people I’ve coached through and told how important it is to let people get to know you so they’ll feel comfortable buying your product. Sitting down to do my own, I was stuck, but here it goes…

My favorite things are road trips with my family that lead to amazing adventures like, snowmobiling, rodeos, paddle boarding, football games, basically being outside with the people I love. Dislikes boil down to, inconsiderate people and their actions. Oops that sounds more like a dating profile and I’ve been married 16 years, lets try again…I am a 4th generation Montanan who grew up living the typical amazing small town Montana life… We have 2 great kids, our daughter is 21, a barrel racer, and preparing to start an equine vet tech career. Our son is 14 and he’s a guitar playing, football obsessed, dirt bike riding, budding bareback rider, today, who knows what he’ll be tomorrow. Well that about covers the typical stuff…here’s what you really wanted to know.

____________Our Story____________________________________

A few years ago my husband picked up a parts truck for his 64 Chevy restoration project. Eventually, he’d stripped all he needed from it and we hauled it off for scrap. Before I could let it go though I just had to save a few pieces with the beautiful patina, I couldn’t let them just be recycled and I knew that eventually I’d find something to do with them. I originally was thinking photo props but then my photo studio became home to a high performance barrel horse (a long story I might write about sometime). Throughout my career I’ve said that if I could ever create for me, not just paying client work, I’d do something in metal working.

2020 was a hard year for the world, but 2019 prepared our family for it. From medical emergencies, a shop fire, daughter leaving for college, turning 40, and more minor mishaps than I care to list I was blocked creatively in a way that even tequila and dark chocolate couldn’t cure. We are lucky enough that with some minor belt tightening my husband’s job as an underground miner takes care of our needs and I was able to take a break, step back, and realize I actually did have the time to create something I wanted and Bonepile Bling was born.

I’m truly enjoying spending time in the shop, junkyard browsing, and marketing a product that’s mine. Even if it’s much scarier to be emotionally invested in the project than just trying my best to help get someone else’s idea off the ground. So that’s our story and it’s really pretty great and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for looking at our product and hope you enjoy it.
